David Houle is a futurist, advisor and speaker. He has always been slightly ahead the curve. Houle spent more than 20 years in media and entertainment. He has worked at NBC, CBS and was part of the senior executive team that created and launched MTV, Nickelodeon, VH1 and CNN Headline News.
Houle has won a number of awards. He won two Emmys, the prestigious George Foster Peabody award and the Heartland award for “Hank Aaron: Chasing the Dream”. He was also nominated for an Academy Award.
Houle is consistently ranked as one of the top futurists and futurist keynote speakers on the major search engines and in the world today. In the last year he has delivered keynotes on five continents. Called “the emerging futurist in the world today”, he is regularly invited to speak at corporate management retreats. He won a speaker of the year award from Vistage International, the leading organization of CEOs in the world. He is often called “the CEOs’ Futurist” having spoken to or advised 2,000+ CEOs and business owners in the past four years.
His first book, the influential and highly acclaimed “The Shift Age” was published in 2008. His second book, “Shift Ed: A Call to Action for Transforming K-12 Education” was published in April 2011. His third book, “The New Health Age: the Future of Healthcare and Medicine in America” will be published in the fall of 2011. An updated volume two of “The Shift Age” will be published by early 2012.
Houle has recently become a member of the faculty and the futurist in residence at the Ringling College of Art + Design.
