Lily Tomlin is one of America's foremost actresses and comedians, continuing to earn critical acclaim as she ventures across an ever-widening range of media, including film, television, and comedy.

Most recently, Tomlin co-starred in the Franco Zeffirelli film Tea With Mussolini, guest- starred on the popular series, The X-Files, and continued to provide the voice of Ms. Frizzle on the popular children's animated series, The Magic School Bus, for which she was awarded an Emmy. In 1998, Tomlin wrapped her second year on the last season of the hit CBS series, Murphy Brown, and received an Emmy nomination for her critically acclaimed appearances on NBC's Homicide.

Tomlin has received numerous industry awards, including six Emmys, two Tonys, a Drama Desk Award, an Outer Critics' Circle Award for her one woman performance in The Search for Signs of Intelligent Life in The Universe, a Grammy for her comedy album, This Is a Recording, and two Peabody awards.

After a distinguished career in stand-up and television, including a role on the hit series Laugh-In, and four of her own network comedy specials, Tomlin made her film debut in 1975 as Linnea, a gospel singer and mother of two deaf children in Robert Altman's Nashville. Her memorable performance was nominated for an Academy Award and both the New York Film Critics and National Society of Film Critics award for Best Supporting Actress.

Since that time, Tomlin has achieved ample success on the big screen, starring in numerous movies throughout her career, including: The Late Show, Moment by Moment, 9 to 5, The Incredible Shrinking Woman, All of Me, The Search for Signs of Intelligent Life in the Universe and The Beverly Hillbillies.
