As an educator, he taught English, biology, health, life sciences and math curricula. In addition, he was instrumental in the promotion of body building and in the direction of physical education programming.
Harvey was also a highly successful business manager in the food and restaurant industry. As supervisor, he helped alter the attitudes of employees. With a "Number 1" record in this business, Harvey gained insight into the many aspects of customer service.
Mr. Alston authored four books, including: Be the Best: A Focus on Individual Responsibility for Achieving and Black Males: An African American View on Raising Young Men.
