Joan Borysenko, Ph.D. is trained as a medical scientist and is also a licensed psychologist. She received her doctorate from the Harvard Medical School where she also completed post-doctoral fellowships in cancer cell biology, behavioral medicine, and psychoneuroimmunology. She was the co-founder and former director of the Mind/Body clinical programs at the Beth Israel/Deaconess Medical Center in Boston and a former Instructor in Medicine at the Harvard Medical School. She is the founding partner of Mind-Body Health Sciences, LLC, established in 1988. A pioneer in integrative medicine, her work encompasses life balance, creativity, women’s health, fitness, and spiritual inspiration.
Author of twelve books and numerous audio programs, Dr. Borysenko provides lectures, workshops and consulting services for hospitals, corporations, and civic and organizations. She wrote and starred in the 2001 Public Television special, Inner Peace for Busy People and has extensive media experience in television, radio and print. Her monthly column, Staying Centered, has appeared in Prevention magazine since 2004. She is also featured twice weekly on the Hallmark Channel’s New Morning program.
