A former college professor and television executive, Jacqueline Marcell turned around a seemingly impossible situation with her challenging elderly father and sweet but ailing mother, changing a life altering near-family tragedy into a book and seminars with a broad appeal since more than 50 million Americans struggle to provide care for loved ones. Compelled by her experience, Jacqueline is a well-known advocate for eldercare awareness and reform.
Dementia costs American business over $61 billion a year, largely due (79%) to lost productivity and absenteeism of employees who must take time off work to provide care. Jacqueline presentation, Managing Family, Career, Elderly Parents and You!, stresses the importance of recognizing the 10 early warning signs of dementia and creative behavioral techniques for managing challenging situations. By the age of 65, one out of every eight persons has some form of dementia, and by age 85, nearly one out of two. The fastest growing segment of our population is the 85+ group, and 78 million baby boomers need to know how to care for and cope with their aging parents. Employers, who impart this information to their employees, can save them a lot of stress and heartache--and themselves a lot of money.
Jacqueline teaches healthcare professionals how they can better help the families they work with, and offers families solutions and hope to make one of life’s most difficult experiences less stressful, time consuming and more manageable. Jacqueline is also a breast cancer survivor who stresses the importance for caregivers to closely monitor their own health. Her passion and humor turn difficult subjects into a very "edu-taining" presentations.
