1. Can I get a sport celebrity to come to my event?

Absolutely. Most sport personalities enjoy doing personal appearances. However, their willingness to come to your event will be contingent on several factors; these are (a) availability, (b) remuneration, and (c) the nature of the assignment.

Prices for sports celebrities vary considerably. The price will depend on both the sport and the status of the celebrity. Your program consultants at Eagles Talent Connection will work with you to find a suitable sports celebrity to fit your needs and budget.

7. Do I pay more for a sports celebrity when I book him/her through Eagles Talent Connection?

Absolutely not, here’s why…

a. In many cases, we receive our entire fee from the sports celebrity. On those rare occasions where a celebrity does not pay the bureau’s fee, our markup is among the most modest in the industry.

b. Our consultants strive for your long-term, return business, and as such they will always try to find for you the most suitable sports celebrity at the best price. We do all we can to earn your long-term, repeat business.

c. Since Eagles Talent Connection generates an appreciative volume of business for many sports celebrities, this puts us in a more favorable position to negotiate for you. In many instances, we can actually save you money.

8. Does the price quoted for a sport celebrity include travel expenses?

In most cases, NO. There is usually an additional charge for airfare, ground transportation, overnight accommodations, food, and incidentals (Sometimes arranged as a per diem charge).

Working with ETC, you’ll never be surprised or caught of guard by hidden charges. Your program consultant will always explain all charges to you up front. All charges need to be understood, negotiated, and approved before contracts are signed. Your Eagles Talent Connection program coordinator will guide you through this potential “financial minefield.” It’s our job at ETC, to make sure you, our client, fully understand why and what you are paying for, and to make sure that we get for you the best and fairest deal.

9. Who make the sport celebrity’s travel arrangements?

Since a sports celebrity’s travel itinerary is subject to frequent changes, most prefer to have their own office make their travel arrangements. This is the most convenient and expedient arrangement for all concerned. However, Eagles Talent Connection is fully responsible for supplying to you, prior to the engagement date, the celebrity’s final (detailed) travel itinerary and all other pertinent information. Travel and incidental expenses (as agreed upon and delineated in the contract) are usually billed after the engagement.

10. Will a sport celebrity sign autographs at my event?

Most will. However, a signing event may cost extra. The scheduling and actual time spent signing needs to be discussed well before the event, and then it needs to be clearly delineated in the contract. Some celebrities can provide, for an extra cost, pictures, cards, balls, bats, hats, shirts, etc., for signing. Your Eagles Talent Connection representative will explain to you what’s available. Sometimes, it’s more economical to have a celebrity sign and ship product to you before the engagement.

11. Will a sport celebrity be willing to participate in a photo shoot?

The answer is: depending on the photo shoot. If the photo shoot is one that take only a few minutes in which the celebrity is shot with the head of the organization and maybe a few of the officers, then most celebrities will be happy to accommodate. However, if the shoot is one in which the celebrity is expected to take multiple pictures with different people, then just like a signing event, it may cost you extra; and just like a signing event, it needs to be discussed well before the event, and clearly delineated in the contract. Picture taking and signing sessions are very effective for drawing a crowd to an exhibit at a trade show.

12. Will a sport celebrity join us in our hospitality suite?

It all depends on scheduling and the celebrity’s preference. Eagles Talent Connection is always more than happy to extend to a celebrity your invitation to your group’s social functions. These arrangement need to made well in advance of the event. Many celebrities welcome the graciousness of an invitation to join the group for dinner and/or other social functions, with the understanding, of course, that they may respectfully decline.

When a celebrity is hired for a specific function (such as to give a speech or to meet and greet and take photos in a trade show booth) then that all they are obligated to do. If, however, having the celebrity also join your group’s social function, or a golf outing is important to you, then, with the celebrity’s agreement, and for an additional fee, special arrangements can be made that joining the group on these extracurricular activities is part of the contractual agreement.

13. Can Eagles Talent Connection arrange for sport celebrity to do product endorsements and promotions?

YES, absolutely. First, it’s important to match the right celebrity to a particular product or service. The endorsement specialist in our office will be more than happy to work with you.

14. Can Eagles Talent Connection arrange for sport celebrity to do a media tour?

YES, absolutely. Just as in a product or service endorsement, it’s imperative to get the right celebrity to represent your organization, product or service. Often the same celebrity who endorses your product or service will also be the one who will do the media tour. The endorsement specialist in our office will be more than happy to work with you.

15. What is the process for booking a sport celebrity?

After you and your Eagles Talent Connection’s program consultant have determined who is the best sport celebrity for your needs, and it has been established the celebrity is available to do your engagement, the next step is to put in a “firm offer.”

Most celebrities require a “firm offer” from the buyer. A firm offer is a written commitment, on the part of the buyer, to book the specific celebrity for a specific date, for a specific assignment, for a specified fee. Many celebrities will not even consider an engagement unless a firm offer is first put forth. A firm offer does not guarantee you the buyer, that the celebrity will accept the offer, only that he/she will consider it. If, however, the celebrity accepts the buyer’s (your) offer, the firm offer is legally binding. Firm offers are always made in writing and can either be mailed or faxed. Eagles Talent Connection has a special “firm offer form” that we e-mail to you when and if you are ready to make a firm offer.

After a “firm offer” has been accepted, by the celebrity, Eagles Talent Connection issues contracts and then does all the necessary follow-up arrangements. (See our “Customized Three-Step Service Process,” in the About ETC section.)

16. How do we pay for the sport celebrity?

The most common arrangement is that 50% of the fee along with the signed contract is sent to Eagles Talent Connection. The balance is due prior to the presentation. Expenses for travel and other incidentals will be billed after the event.

17. What happens in the event that the sport celebrity is unable (due to an accident, illness, or travel difficulties) to make it to my event?

Although this rarely happens, Eagles Talent Connection is here to help you twenty-four hours, seven days a week. You will receive, with the paper work for the engagement, both ETC’s 24-hour emergency phone number and the personal cell-phone number to your ETC Program Coordinator. In the event of a last minute emergency, we immediately spring into action to find you a comparable replacement. Our knowledgeable program coordinators always have access to ETC’s database and can, in most instances, secure another excellent substitute to fill in. Fees will, of course, be adjusted.

In the event the celebrity fails to make it your event venue in time for his/her scheduled engagement, and you do not wish to accept a replacement, your full deposit will be immediately refunded.

18. What happens in the case of a cancellation either by us or by the sport celebrity?

Different celebrities may have different cancellation policies. Each celebrity’s policy will be clearly outlined in the contract. After you have narrowed down your celebrity choice and would like to know his/her particular cancellation policy before making a firm offer, Eagles Talent Connection will be more than happy to e-mail or fax the specific celebrity’s cancellation policy.

Each contract will also clearly outline the policy regarding a cancellation by you (the client). Should you want to know this policy prior to making a firm offer, Eagles Talent Connection will, of course, always be more than happy to e-mail or fax to you the “cancellation by a client” policy. We at Eagles Talent Connection know that extenuating circumstances do occur. When a cancellation becomes necessary, we will do our best to prevent or minimize any loss to you, our client.
