Annie Korzen is proud to be a Moth Mainstage storyteller. She was the recurring Doris Klompus on Seinfeld, and has performed her solo shows on three continents. Annie has done humorous essays for NPR’s Morning Edition, The NY Times, LA Times, and many more. The late Roger Ebert suggested on Twitter that you see Annie on www.OldJewsTellingJokes.com.
Annie has now created a storytelling evening called TALES FROM THE MOUTH: COMEDIES OF ERRORS - a simple but satisfying program with lots of laughs, music, and a couple of tears. Annie has her audience in stitches as she frets over her son’s Too-Jewish wedding, gorges herself on free food when she’s a guest on Oprah, and even finds humor being a patient in a loony bin.
Annie also offers two humorous and informative speeches – both of which are interactive and can be programmed as workshops:
SHOW AND TELL WITH THE BARGAIN JUNKIE is a humorous talk based on Annie’s book, BARGAIN JUNKIE: LIVING THE GOOD LIFE ON THE CHEAP. Skills in the art of thrifty living have become a necessity. Annie is a lifelong frugalista who wears designer clothes, collects antiques, vacations in Italy and – most importantly – eats out as often as possible – without spending much money. Her mantra is “You don’t have to be rich to live well.”
In I HEART JEWISH WOMEN, Annie explores the stereotyping of Jewish women – in an entertaining and uplifting way. This speech is extremely effective as a fund-raiser because the content is “feel-good” and celebratory.
