The SHARP Solution – Simple Strategies to Boost Your Brainpower
Our brains can be our best allies or our worst enemies when it comes to our health and performance efforts. In times of plenty, the brain sees positive change as something good and energizing. However, in our fast-paced, stressed-out society most people function in a state of energy deprivation, or “survival mode”, which leads the brain to pull away from anything that might cost more energy, including incorporating new healthy behaviors.

In The SHARP Solution, participants will learn the critical components of brain health that provide a foundation for improved cognitive functioning throughout the lifespan, understand the power of mental and physical training to stimulate energy, and create an actionable plan for implementing a sustainable brain-body fitness program that can be applied to their everyday life. These simple strategies optimize energy and performance for today and create a healthier brain as we age, prolonging the development of cognitive decline, dementia, and Alzheimer’s disease.

Participants will:

  • Understand the impact of busyness, stress, and aging on brain functioning
  • Identify the 5 key factors for building a healthy brain foundation
  • Utilize brain training techniques for mental strength, flexibility, and endurance
  • Discuss the latest tools designed to optimize brain/body functioning
  • Create a training plan for improved brain health and cognitive fitness

Stressaholic – From Exhaustion to Enlightenment
Constant multitasking and ever-increasing demands on time and energy have caused us to develop a neurochemically-based addiction to sources of stress. As a result, taking it easy is one of the hardest things to do! Our dependence on stimulation from multiple sources of stress, often simultaneously, shifts us away from healthy oscillation, causing us to flat-line our way through the day.

Running on fumes day in and day out, we often find ourselves both tired and wired at the end of each day. One foot on the gas pedal and one food on the brake pedal, we continually grind the gears of our operating system, causing the most intense form of internal wear and tear. In Stressaholic, participants will recognize the benefits of stress on engagement and performance when balanced with adequate recovery. Hidden internal stressors will be identified and discussed, as well as suggestions for quickly reducing inflammation, brain fog and fatigue while boosting focus, creativity and overall well-being.

    Participants will:
  • Understand the impact of chronic stress on the human operating system: body, mind and spirit.
  • Learn how a simple shift in mindset can dramatically alter physiological responses to stress.
  • Recognize the key sources of hidden internal stress that deplete natural resilience.
  • Practice simple techniques for altering daily stress patterns to improve natural rhythms, creating a personalized “Optimal Performance Pulse”.
  • Create an action plan to support personal energy management.

The SHARP Solution or Stressaholic for Women
This special edition keynote focuses on circumstances specific to women, with a dialogue about the unique female stress response and specific strategies to best obtain work/life balance for optimal energy. Recent studies show that women’s brains may age prematurely due to a more intense reaction to stress. Although the life expectancy of women is higher than that of men, women show faster age-related cognitive decline and a higher prevalence of Alzheimer’s disease. Yet, the female brain is also ideally designed for leadership, creativity, and collaboration. In these customized programs, participants will learn how to optimize the strengths of their brain while minimizing the negative impact of stress.

    Participants will:
  • Understand how the brain controls energy management
  • Recognize the unique female stress response, “tend and befriend”
  • Identify the 5 key factors for building a healthy brain foundation
  • Utilize brain training techniques for mental strength, flexibility, and endurance
  • Create an action plan to support personal energy management
