Energy Reboot

the missing link to productivity and peak performance

When people focus on generating energy to operate their body and brain rather than on managing time, they become more productive AND get through each day without feeling completely exhausted

Ideal Audience

Executives, managers, medical audiences, startups, entrepreneurs, and more

Energy drives everything  motivation, creativity, and performance. When people focus on generating energy rather than on managing time, they become more productive AND get through each day without feeling completely exhausted or experiencing burn out.

However, employees have become conditioned to think it’s perfectly normal to struggle to get out of bed, experience mid-afternoon brain fog, and feel totally worn out when they get home from work.

It may be common, but it’s not normal. And, it can be reversed.

Learning Objectives

After this program, attendees will be able to:

  • Articulate how the body and brain generate energy needed to function at a high level for long periods of time
  • Demonstrate practical strategies to sustain concentration, focus, and stamina in order to improve productivity and prevent burnout
  • Spark change within their own work environment by sharing the stories of how other organizations have successful made shift
Bouncing Back from Burnout

When people switch their focus from all that they can’t control…to what is within their control (even if it’s very little), they are more capable of staying on task and recovering their energy more quickly at the end of the day.

Ideal Audience

Executives, managers, understaffed office and factory workers, healthcare, remote workers, and frontline workers

Are you exhausted? Feeling more negative lately? Work draining you? You’re not alone. A recent survey from Indeed found that 52% of people reported experiencing burnout in 2021.

When we fail to recharge our body and mind, we experience burnout characterized by feelings of stress and exhaustion as well as reduced productivity and negativity at work.

In this fast-paced, quiz-style, science-driven program, Dr. Jo will guide participants in discovering what factors are within their control to change and practice practical strategies for recovery.

Learning Objectives

After this program, attendees will be able to:

  • Recognize the physical, mental, and emotional signs of stress overload before it’s too late
  • Demonstrate and practice the Relaxation Response, a quick and scientifically-proven way to reverse the effects of stress and to think more clearly about the situations and options available
  • Recall feasible options for “re-creation” and recovery in times of stress and burnout
Fighting Fatigue in the Workplace

Fatigue costs companies over $500 billion in lost productivity each year due to missed work, diminished performance, increased medical costs, accidents, and errors. And it’s completely preventable.

Ideal Audience

Health and safety, occupational health nurses and other medical professionals, military, forest service, firefighters, law enforcement

With tighter budgets and reduced staff, today’s employees are working harder, faster, and longer than ever before. While technology and time-management techniques make it easier to do more with less, the constant pressure of excessive workloads ultimately results in fatigue and burnout.

The total global cost of fatigue is estimated to be $500 billion each year. Fortunately, when it comes to tackling fatigue and burnout a bit of prevention can go a long way and result in significant benefits to both the company and those who work for it.

Learning Objectives

After this program, attendees will be able to:

  • Understand the real costs related to fatigue in terms of accidents, errors, absenteeism, and loss of productivity
  • Provide three practical strategies to prevent and counter fatigue during the workday
  • Share real life examples of companies that have successfully reduced fatigue in the workplace

Stormy Weather Ahead: Managing Stress and Building Resilience

Stress will always be with us. Let’s learn how to use it to drive us forward, rather than hold us back.

Ideal Audience

Executives, managers, directors and customer service professionals in legal, finance, sales and marketing roles. Also ideal for medical and health CEU

These two programs show participants how to prepare and respond to stress in a way that is both healthy and productive. Either can be presented as a keynote or breakout – or combined as an interactive half day program.

Stress happens. It’s a part of life. In fact, stress can be the great motivator, driving us forward to become better at what we do. The trick is to understand the stress and use it as a way forward and become more resilient to the negative effects.

Eye of the Storm: building resilience in a whirlwind of chaos

When chaos swirls around you like a hurricane, do you get swept up in those winds or manage to stay more grounded than most? In this hands-on program, Dr. Jo works with clients to help them to find their own individual path to personal and professional resilience.

Into the Storm: Buckling up for transformational change

While stress is often perceived to be a two-step process (it happens and we respond), there are actually five specific steps that flow from one to another. During this program, participants learn how to interrupt/change each of these steps in order to transform negative stress into positive outcomes.

Learning Objectives

After this program, attendees will be able to:

  • Define stress in terms of positive and negative implications
  • Practice three coping strategies for managing their stressors
  • Describe the five steps in the stress cycle and one way to interrupt/change each of these
Swimming in a Sea of Priorities: finding balance on the rough waters of life

The goal of this work/life balance program isn’t about trying to keep an even keel, but rather about finding more joy with the ebb and flow of life.

Do you have too much to do and not enough time? Have a hard time focusing at work? Feeling guilty that you don’t spend enough time with your loved ones or on the things you enjoy? In just a short time, you’ll feel more on track with your priorities and less stressed.

Learning Objectives

After this program, attendees will be able to:

  • Identify their true stressors
  • Discover their personal priorities
  • Practice strategies to help them stay focused at work and let it go when they leave
  • Create steps to smooth the transition from work to home (one of the most stressful periods)
