Doug Hall is a hands on innovation practitioner, quantitative researcher, educator and author whose life’s work is applying system thinking to innovation. He is a chemical engineer by education who rose to the rank of Master Marketing Inventor at Procter & Gamble – inventing and shipping a record nine innovations in 12 months by applying system thinking to innovation strategy and execution.
He is the founder and ceo of the Eureka! Ranch International and the Innovation Engineering Institute. Both organization’s mission and Doug’s personal mission is: To Change The World Through Systems that Enable Innovation by Everyone, Everywhere Every Day. Doug and his team accomplish this by helping organizations: 1) CREATE Innovations, 2) Build Innovation CAPABILITY, or 3) Grow an Innovation CULTURE. Innovation Engineering is grounded in applying the system thinking of Dr. W. Edwards Deming to innovation.
Doug is the best selling author of six books with a seventh in process. Jack Covert named Jump Start Your Business Brain one of the 100 Best Business Books of All Time. Doug has starred in two network television series and co-hosted a national public radio program. He wrote and performed North Pole Tenderfoot, a one-man play about his adventure recreating Admiral Peary’s last dash to the North Pole.
For his pioneering work in applying system thinking to Innovation, Doug was awarded an Honorary Doctorate in Engineering from the University of Maine and a Doctor of Laws from the University of Prince Edward Island.
Doug is a citizen of the USA and Canada. He is married to his high school sweetheart and they have 3 children. They split their time between Cincinnati Ohio USA and Springbrook Prince Edward Island, Canada. He is passionate about sailing, cooking the world’s best pizza, cross country skiing, and the College of Piping and Celtic Performing Arts of Canada.
