Today, we’re introducing Annie Jablonski, Event Director of Talent Management for Eagles Talent’s Managed Speakers division. Annie schedules, prepares, and sets up fifteen professional keynote speakers for success at every event.
We sat down with Annie to talk about what it really takes to manage a roster of top speakers, the best advice she gives every client, and the outdoor adventures that keep her recharged between events.
Annie Jablonski, Event Director of Talent Management at Eagles Talent, oversees scheduling, booking, and logistics for the agency’s fifteen managed keynote speakers.
What’s your role at Eagles Talent, and what does a typical week look like for you?
“I am the Event Director of Talent Management at Eagles Talent’s Managed Speakers division. I handle scheduling, booking, and coordinating logistics for the events of our AMAZING fifteen managed keynote speakers. My typical week consists of collaboration calls with speakers, clients, and bureaus; talent calendar, event, and asset management; and anything else that might get thrown my way!”
What’s one thing corporate event planners often get wrong when booking a keynote speaker, and how do you help them avoid it?
“The more information the client can give the speaker, the more effective the speaker’s keynote will be for their attendees. Take the time to have the pre-event call with the speaker, so you can get the most out of their time.”
What’s a moment from a past event that reminded you why you love this work?
“I love all of our managed speakers. Not only are they inspirational in their own way, they are truly good people who make work enjoyable. Last year, one of our speakers became ill and couldn’t give his keynote. The day of the event, another one of our managed speakers made himself available and drove hours the night before to fill in for him. He nailed the keynote, and the client was so relieved and pleased that he was able to resonate with their attendees.”
If you could give one piece of advice to someone planning their first big corporate event, what would it be?
“You can’t go wrong booking any of the Eagles Talent Managed Speakers :)”
What’s something that happens behind the scenes that most clients never realize goes into making an event run smoothly?
“Our speakers make their keynotes appear seamless and natural, but it takes hours, months, and years of training and practice to achieve what they do. It’s a job I could never do!”
What’s your go-to solution when something goes wrong day-of?
“Reaching out to my colleagues at Eagles Talent, who are always willing to collaborate and problem solve.”
Outside of work, what’s something people might be surprised to learn about you?
“I love to exercise — hot yoga, skiing, hiking, and generally being outdoors. Fun fact: I’ve been lucky enough to win two trips in my life, one to Space Camp and one to the Marlboro Ranch in Montana.”
