The Secret to Seamless Events: Inside Lisa Campbell’s Role at Eagles Talent

Lisa Campbell, Eagles Talent Speakers Liaison and Event Manager.
At Eagles Talent Speakers Bureau, a great event is never the result of one person. It’s the product of a whole team working behind the scenes. Today we’re introducing Lisa Campbell, who wears two hats here: Speaker Liaison and Event Manager.
As Speaker Liaison, Lisa manages the entire talent pipeline — from vetting new speaker submissions to onboarding them onto our roster and keeping their promotional materials fresh and client-ready. As Event Manager, she’s the steady hand behind every event, guiding the process from contract to final applause and making sure clients feel supported at every step.
We sat down with Lisa to talk about what she loves about the industry, what clients often don’t realize happens behind the scenes, and the moment that reminded her why she does this work.
What’s your role at Eagles Talent, and what does a typical week look like for you?
“As Speaker Liaison, I manage the end-to-end talent pipeline, which includes vetting speaker submissions and presenting qualified candidates to decision-makers for review. Once selected, I oversee onboarding, maintain promotional materials, and collaborate strategically with marketing to launch and promote new speakers while cultivating long-term roster relationships.
In my role as Event Manager, I champion the success of our events from inception to completion. This includes collaborating with our sales team on initial agreements, managing all key deliverables, and following through with insightful speaker evaluations. My top priority is cultivating strong client partnerships, providing a seamless and supportive experience that brings peace of mind throughout the entire process.
On a day-to-day basis, I manage essential event deliverables and make sure our speakers have everything they need, from real-time profile updates to personalized support. I also work hand in hand with our sales team to curate the perfect speaker recommendations for client proposals, while managing incoming leads and our live chat. For me, it’s all about being a responsive, reliable anchor for both our clients and speakers whenever they need assistance.”
What’s a moment from a past event that reminded you why you love this work?
“During my first year with Eagles Talent, a major event expecting multiple speakers and thousands of audience members was suddenly threatened by an approaching hurricane. Because the event couldn’t be rescheduled, we had to move forward — even as airlines began canceling flights and the local airport closed completely.
The client and I stayed up all night coordinating the arrival of one specific speaker, who had to fly into a neighboring town and travel by car through the storm just to make it. Going through that intense experience built an incredibly close bond between the client and me. Our speaker was so amazing that she even stepped up to present a second time on the fly, filling in for another speaker who was unable to make it.
While situations like that are few and far between, they truly prove what we are made of. Everything worked out beautifully in the end, and today, that client and I can look back and laugh about it.”
What’s one thing corporate event planners often get wrong when booking a keynote speaker, and how do you help them avoid it?
“One of the best hidden secrets to a seamless event is fully using your Event Manager when booking a keynote speaker. While it’s completely natural to want a direct line to the talent, high-profile speakers often have demanding schedules that can lead to communication gaps. That is where we love to step in. Think of your Event Manager not as a middleman, but as your dedicated partner — we handle the heavy lifting, track every deliverable, and make certain nothing falls through the cracks so you always feel completely supported and stress-free.”
If you could give one piece of advice to someone planning their first big corporate event, what would it be?
“Ask all the questions, lean on your event manager. We are in this together.”
Outside of work, what’s something people might be surprised to learn about you?
“I am a classically trained singer and can sing in many languages.”
What’s something that happens behind the scenes that most clients never realize goes into making an event run smoothly?
“Clients are often surprised to learn that booking high-profile talent involves navigating an entire ecosystem of professionals. It’s a collaborative process where we all have a vital role to play. While I serve as the client’s primary point of contact, behind the scenes, I am partnering with an incredible network — including bureau partners, executive assistants, and even the speakers’ spouses. Over the years, these partnerships have become some of my favorite relationships in the industry. Working together so seamlessly to bring an event to life is  a beautiful thing.”
What’s your go-to solution when something goes wrong day-of?
“My go-to approach is to stay completely grounded and immediately focus on collaborative problem-solving.”
