International Day of Happiness 2015
Friday is the International Day of Happiness, and there are a lot of great initiatives happening around the world I wanted to let you know about:
Action for Happiness is running a big global campaign where The H(app)athon Project is a Partner. Focused on the idea that Your Happiness is Part of Something Bigger, the site features multiple ways to make positive connections with others, including a Free Happiness Pack full of practical ideas. One of my favorites is to create your own Happiness Club that functions like a book club where you meet 12 times throughout the year to encourage increased positivity and wellbeing.
Live Happy magazine is featuring a 24-hour Happiness Livestream that’s free to sign up for and view, beginning tomorrow night at 8PM Eastern. I did an interview with Kym Yancey, co-founder of Live Happy that will be featured twice on March 20th, first at 5:00 AM and then 2:15 Eastern.
The Campaign to Change Direction is focused on creating awareness about, and improvement of, the state of mental health in America. The group is actually focused on a social media awareness push on March 23rd (versus March 20th), and I’m honored that the Happathon Project is a Founding Partner for the campaign. An excellent and proactive tool featured in the campaign is their Five Signs that may mean someone is in emotional pain and might need help. I strongly encourage you to check these signs and tweet/broadcast them as much as possible as a pragmatic way to turn the tide of stigma towards mental illness and get help for those in need. What a great way to honor the International Day of Happiness in a forward thinking and beneficial way.
Lastly, make sure to use the #InternationalDayOfHappiness hashtag to promote the focus on happiness and wellbeing for any/all efforts you want to promote.
As always, thank you for your interest and support.
