22 years ago, World Water Day was established by the United Nations as a day to raise awareness of the plight that many people go through in order to access clean water. According to the UN, around 750 million people, more than 1 in 10 of the world’s population, are without access to a fresh water supply.
Motivational Speaker and CNN Hero Doc Hendley’s Wine to Water foundation aims to help those people worldwide who lack access to clean water. By using wine events to raise money and awareness about the lack of clean drinking water in the developing world, Doc Hendley has harnessed a powerful social force and multiplied the generosity of many.
