John Schneider is currently in his 14th season as the General Manager of the Seattle Seahawks. He has led the Seahawks to tremendous success over his tenure, which includes bringing the first Super Bowl Championship in franchise history to Seattle in 2014 (SB XLVIII).
The Seahawks have the fifth best record in the NFL since 2010, when Schneider
joined the team. In addition to winning Super Bowl XLVIII, Schneider orchestrated
a team that won five NFC West Division titles, made it past the divisional round of
the playoffs seven times, and appeared in a second Super Bowl in 2015 (SB XLIX).
Schneider was named Sports Illustrated’s Executive of the Year in 2012.
Schneider’s philosophy as a General Manager has always been to build through the draft. Throughout his career, he has drafted a number of Pro Bowlers and future Hall of Famers, including Russell Wilson, Bobby Wagner, Earl Thomas, Richard Sherman, DK Metcalf, and Tyler Lockett.
Schneider serves on the GM Advisory Committee and the Club Executive Committee Working Group. He graduated from St. Thomas, where he played football for a year before having his playing career cut short due to injury.
