Today is International Stand Up to Bullying Day! Although it’s typically associated with children, it’s important to remember that bullying affects people of all ages and walks of life. However, young students are especially vulnerable. On average, 3.2 million students get bullied every year. And research has found that this can affect students long term into their adulthood.Â
The creators of this campaign believe that bullying is caused by our behavior, and that we can all work to improve the way we treat each other. Their three main goals are to:

- Create understanding about our collective role in tackling bullying.
- Empower the public with the tools to stand up to bullying, wherever they are.
