Steve Shaffer is an Ace Award-winning writer, a stand-up comedian with multiple national TV appearances, and an actor who has appeared on film, television series, and commercials. This multi-faceted artist was born and raised in South Philadelphia and had a Catholic education. These two factors were predominant in Steve’s ultimate career decision to become a comedian. He has a degree in education from Penn State University and has taught stand-up comedy at The New School in New York City.
Steve Shaffer began his comedy career in New York City and almost immediately started performing on television. His earlier appearances, which can be seen on YouTube, include: The Tonight Show, The Merv Griffin Show, The CBS Morning Show, The Late Show On Fox, Friday Nite Videos, Evening At The Improv, VH-1’s Stand-Up Spot-Light, MTV’S New Year’s Eve Special, Short attention Span Theatre, The Half Hour Comedy Hour, George Schlatters Comedy Club, Carolines, The Montreal Comedy Festival, (Steve’s performance at the festival is still considered one of the very best.) Also, The “A” List On Comedy Central and Dick Clark’s American Bandstand.
