His story of resilience and courage is unlike anything you’ve ever heard before.
His is funny, funny, funny…your audience will laugh, a lot.
He is emotionally powerful, and hard to forget. In between laughs, your audience will be pin-drop silent listening to what he has overcome, and he is a speaker who leaves a lasting impression.
Travis’ strong-suit is unquestionably ‘Inspiration / Motivation’. Within that category I’ll think you’ll be hard pressed to find too many better, and I don’t think you will find anyone who balances inspiration, and a really funny presentation, as well as he does.
Travis Mills is one of only five quadruple amputees from the war in Iraq/Afghanistan, and he is one very funny, very memorable speaker. He is a NY Times Best-Selling Author, is the feature of a Netflix movie, has a growing collection of businesses, and has a thriving foundation that is helping many other wounded vets and their families. He is most certainly a leader in both the military and disability communities.
To give you a feel for his most popular keynote, he leads off with some rapid-fire jokes, and often times this catches the audience a little off-guard. It’s as if they quickly realize, “Oh, this isn’t going to be a sob-story or another boring keynote, this guy is funny!” and they really start to sit up and lean in to what he is saying. This is Travis’ style. He pulls people in with humor, then begins to share his incredible story of perseverance. For the most part, the humor keeps up, and the whole presentation is a really good time, but he is a pro, and there are a couple of times where he changes tempo a bit for some really dramatic, pretty unforgettable impact. He is so adept with his prosthetics that it’s almost easy to forget this guy doesn’t have arms or legs, but then at different points in the presentation you’re reminded of what he has been through, and risen from.
Because of Travis’ unique situation, he is hard to forget.
