Individuals and companies don’t like to change. Most companies and leaders have their own ways of doing things. We are living in unprecedented times. Every day is a new twist, new turn and a new learning experience. As we are all practicing social distancing, our speakers have been getting creative on content that they can provide during this time. Virtual keynotes are rising in popularity. Conferences have been postponed or canceled and clients are looking for options. Keynote speaker, Peter Sheahan is helping companies do things a little differently.
Peter Sheahan Is Intentionally Doing Things Differently
Peter, is the founder and CEO of Karrikins Group. He realizes that if companies are keeping their normal, set-in-stone mindset, then they aren’t going to survive when this pandemic is over. We are all entering a time where our normal business structure might not work anymore. What are our options, and how can we change that?
Take a look at one of Peter’s videos. You will see how he is innovating as the world is changing. He is taking the old way of thinking and flipping it for the new world.
Peter’s intention is to create a video series geared toward helping your company get ready for the future. This pandemic has changed the way that things are done. It changed the way that things will be done after it is over. He stresses that companies must start to intentionally do things differently.
Peter wants you to see that…
Companies tend to believe that in order to create change you need good leverage. Peter explains that humans don’t like variability because variability represents risk. We create teams designed to prevent innovation. We create teams and companies to fit our desired mold, but what do we do when that mold no longer works?
The times are changing. Businesses had plans prior to this health pandemic. They still have those plans, but the way those plans are enacted is changing. Leaders have to learn to be intentionally innovative. Peter points out that we have to find opportunity in disruption.
We, as companies have to intentionally intervene. We need to make the difference in times of opportunity. The cookie cutter foundations that teams, companies and individuals have will not fit the need during difficult times.
Individuals and systems don’t like to change. So as a leader, to actively retain your relevance, you need to actively and intentionally intervene. If not, Peter believes that stagnation will follow, and your team won’t be ready to deal with the new normal.
